Making a better bed or Fallen Idle

Bedmaking for the creative mind
I have made several beds in my life. Some have been double, some queen and some king. When assembling these beds I have always found that it is best to read instructions. Bedmaking for dummies hasn't been written yet...but I believe the instruction book that comes with each headboard, footboard and accompanying metal frame allows for simple application once all the various parts have been found.
When making your bed from the closed container that you have either brought home with you...or the delivery company has dropped off...always, and I do mean always, check for damage that has occurred during the move. Damage of the container/cardboard box that your bed has been packaged in can occur in the strangest manner. It sucks to open your brand new bed frame only to find that the headboard has a massage ding, dent or scratch in it.
Secondly, when making a bed...have the right tools. Whether it be a cordless screw gun, a screwdriver, channel locks, pliers or a crescent wrench, always make sure you have the tools you need to complete the making of your bed.
Finally, make the bed with a friend, preferably male, who knows how hard you work, what your work ethic is, and what sort of vocabulary you may use as you make your bed. If, as a man, you choose to make this bed together with your significant other make sure that your relationship is founded on bedrock(sorry...the pun wasn't intended...I only discovered it while editing.) I just want to be sure that while you are making your bed you are not ruining your most important relationship...besides the one you have with sleep. Just trying to think about the whole realm of bedmaking, is all I'm doing.
Enjoy this new journey as you make your bed. It will bring you years of satisfying sleep, sweet dreams and hopefully hours of great recreational or over-the-top sex. The real trick to making a bed is having fun while you do it, right?
This is how a man would write a story about making a bed...what did you expect? I'm a man. Who in their right male mind would write a story about the sheets, duvets, pillows, pillow coverings, short cuts to blanket folding and all of that stuff? Jeez, hope this story was helpful for all of you girls out there. I had fun writing it.

Filled with good sound advice. Also this is a great trial run project before tackling some of the bigger jobs - like putting up wallpaper. Nicely done!
Oh from a guy it is just great to get these tips. I like satin sheets but for romance...mmm..well...let's just say they slide off a lot. Fun to make the bed again together though. :)
Haha I initially thought this was about something else, that "making bed" was a metaphor for some life experience! :D

Yes it was helpful! And I think your suggestions work in reverse as well...like for girls too. I think it's important for people who work together on any project to speak the same language or know how their work partner is going to react to different situations--the work ethic thing. I've run off quite a few people who were shocked by my language, tears of anguish and wild behavior when encountering problems that always happen in the middle of any job...
Where's that do-a-ma-jiggy thing? You know, the thing that goes in the thing! Why are there 5 exta screws left over? Why is one leg shorter than the other 3? What the EFF?? Who wrote these instructions? Is this a plot? Where's my coffee? And where's that thing that goes in the thing?? ;)
Nice job Rand, and it's obvious you had fun writing this. :)
